view all files ? view by creation/modification date ? way to export everything ?

i'm trying to do an inventory of all my Fusion projects so i can save and/or export everything worthwhile locally.

Since my files are in projects and subproject folders it's taking a long time and is hard to get an overview. As far as i've seen there is no way to see al files in a flat view in Fusion data panel or in the A360 cloud portal like you would in a file browser on Win or Mac.

Then i wanted to find specific files by creation/modification date, i know i've worked on something at a specific time this year but can't seem to find any way to show a list of all Fusion files by date. The versioning system is further confusing me since some files have been updated to new versions automatically before i found out about the 'auto version on close' option. Again i can't find anywhere where i could see a list of files and click on a 'created' or 'modified' header to sort the list. Tried entering dates in to the search panel but that doesn't seem to work.

The only way seems to be to click on the little 'i' icon in the browser, then click on  'show version' to show dates/times. If i have two similar files and want to compare dates/times i can't do this side by side but have to write down or remember all the versions dates/times, the click on the 'i' and 'view versions'for the second and compare ... really ??? ther must be a better way to do this ?

So what's the Fusion way of finding a file by date other than clicking through everything and visually hunting for version dates/times ???

and what would be the fastest way to save everything i did in Fusion to my local harddrive ?

Have you tried accessing your files through your hub's dashboard? You can check multiple files and then try to download them or download an entire folder as a zip. You have to be very patient if there is lots of data, it could take a while to translate the files before they download. There's a Last Updated column in the dashboard that you can use to sort the data by.

I hope that helps!

i don't have a download option there:

i've seen the 'Created On' for the projects and 'last updated' column for the files but this is not much help since not both columns are available in the same view. If i have subfolders in a main project folder for example this is almost useless. Also i can't compare all my files, if i have files in different folders it's the same problem. And most of all i don't see the time but just the dates.

If these files were on my harddisk i would just do a search and sort in the filebrowser, here's an example on the Mac showing a search for Illustrator files on multiple HD's, but the same works on PC with any kind of file:

Screen Shot 2016-12-16 at 09.35.01.png

is there a way to do a search for all files so i can see them 'flat' side by side without the project folders ?

Is this a screenshot of Fusion Team hub? If it is @rumpelstielz you could try the 30 day demo to download your designs.

no, the screenshot in my second post is from my hub (the one which says 3singlecoils in the top) ... and i don't have the batch download icon in the top bar, i have the startup license for Fusion or did you mean i should get a 30 day demo for another AD product to be able to batch download ?

@rumpelstielz My quote and screenshot were @innovatenate post and yes my thought was to try the demo out to download your designs. There isn't much info available for Fusion Team so you might want to wait for @innovatenate to confirm that'll work.

Mark

Edit If you look closely at the screenshot you'll see it says A360 top left not Fusion.

That screenshot was taken on my personal A360 hub, the one that is included with Fusion 360. I think the download shows up for folders only and not necessarily a bunch of individual designs, I apologize for my misguided attempt to batch download. I think that is where the confusion may be coming from.

Perhaps you could copy or move everything you are looking to back-up locally to a folder in your project and then download it? There are some limitation for moving or copying distributed designs, or designs containing X-refs, so even this suggestion has its limitations.

There is a search button at the top of your A360 hub.

After searching you can sort:

Hopefully that will help!

Thanks,

ok, with folders it works.

for the search the question was wether it is possible to list all files in a flat view or if there is any other way to list all files without the folders, when i did a search for .f3d not all my files came up, but i've just seen that this takes a while to populate.

thx for your help

That works, I didn't notice you needed to select a folder. Is the ability to download all the files in a folder new, the last time I tried only the non fusion files downloaded.

@innovatenate There was a question today about downloading project\folders and I pointed them at this thread. As a test I tried downloading a folder but all I got was an empty zip file, I'm sure it worked before when this thread was originally made so is there a problem now?

Thanks Mark

It still does this. I did a test download of a folder, and the zip was empty.

If you open the folder and try to select all the files to download, the download button does not appear.

I have a full, paid Fusion account, so that's not the issue for me.

I could do them all individually, but our client wants the entire catalogue of projects I've made in the last year backed up to their private server, and we're talking hundreds of files.

So have we figured out how to download all of the files? All I get is an empty zip folder downloaded and nothing else.  How do we download ALL of our work?
