Macbook Pro trackpad controls no longer working properly on fresh install

On a completely fresh install of Yosemite (OSX 10.10) I installed Fusion 360 (build 2.0.1299) through the App Store.

To be clear, Fusion 360 has never been on this machine, nor have any Autodesk products of any kind. It's as fresh as it gets.

Trackpad specific camera controls no longer work as they used to. For example, Shift+two fingers used to orbit, but now seems to be ignored. Pinch to zoom doesn't work. Two finger dragging up and down zooms in and out (as it's the default OS behavior for scrolling).

Reading up on similar instances of this happening here in the forums, I followed instructions to enable gesture based navigation in General Prerences - it seems that option no longer exists, has been renamed or has moved somewhere where I can't find it.

I've restarted Fusion 360 several times (as I'm seeing other quirks with the data panel). Restarts don't seem to help with gesture based navigation.

Hi Michael,

Sorry for the troubles that you are seeing, unfortunately this is something that we are currently aware of.  The App Store version of Fusion 360 doesn't have the option to enable or disable gestura because we had to remove this capability.  We are in the process of getting this resolved and should hopefully have trackpad functionality back in for the App Store.

In the mean time Fusion 360 from our website will have this capability enabled and you will have the option to disable or enable gestura as you please.

Cheers,

Hi, for the Trackpad problem on MacBook Pro, I had found that it will work again by clicking on the "House" on the navigation cube. After doing some work on the MacBook Pro the Shift + two fingers might not work again. Clicking on the HOUSE again might solve that.

This problem is more serious on the New and Old MacBook Air. Clicking on the HOUSE will not fix that. I  hope future updates can fix that.

For several months this problem went away. Sadly, it's returned. Ironically, it just started happening when I was switch back and forth between Fusion 360 and Chrome while describing a different issue.

I checked Fusion 360 preferences. "User gesture-based view navigation" was selected. I unselected it, applied the change, the quite Fusion 360. I then launched Fusion 360, noted that gesture based navigation wasn't working (which is to be excepted, since I just turned it off). I then turned it back on in preferences, applied it, relaunched Fusion 360 and it's now working again.

So somehow my settings got "corruputed" and the preference was being ignored. The fix isn't terrible, but even on a very fast machine can take a total of 5 minutes with all the relaunching. The original fix of tweaking the navigation cube or hitting the "house" icon of the ViewCube doesn't seem to work anymore.

Same thing happening here. I am on an educational version (not the App Store one), but the gestures issues behave same way. On random launches, I can zoom with pinch and orbit with Shift+2 fingers, sometimes two fingers are just zooming...
