copy and paste

Just starting off with Fusion.  Can someone tell me how to duplicate and / or copy and paste a  body I create (either from a sketch or other operation). I see on the history tree I can copy and paste but after copying and than selecting paste it doesn't work. Other cad programs I have used allows one to select an object and copy and paste. I am sure the feature is available .  Thanks

Hi tdcambridge

If you're trying to copy and paste the body, here's the steps that might helps you:

Step1: right click on the tree view and select copy on one of the body

Step 2 : right click on the component you want to paste it

Step 3: drag the design and drop it somewhere else, cause by default, the pasted item is on the same position of the original body.

Step 4 : now you should be able to see the two bodies.

Hope that could help you and please let me know if you have any problem 🙂

Hi, thanks for posting about this issue.

What Joseph said is helpful for most of the cases, but we did meet the problem that paste command is not available randomly, we have a bug report for this issue, and the plan is to fix it for next release.

Thanks.

Depending on what you are trying to do this thread might be helpful:

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/general-fusion-360-questions/move-a-sculpt-body-to-a-component/m-p/542...

The screencast shows how to copy/paste sculpt bodies between components. Under certain circumstances the paste option is not available, but this is by design.

hth,

I'd be glad to but I don't know how. Is there someway to look up the issue
by reference number?
