Unable to open DWG files in Design Review

I am an instructor at Century College. I tried last night to open a student dwg file on my home computer in Design Review (Something I have done in the past with no problem) I recieved the following message: "The current installation of AutoCAD has been modified. Please reinstall the latest version of AutoCAD to open DWG files in Design Review." Whe I came into the college this mornign and tried the same thing with the same file as well as other files, I recieved the same message. I am totally confused by this because I was under the assumption that anyone, even those without AutoCAD could load DR and open these files. Now I can't even open them with DR supposedly because of an AutoCAD change. I also am unaware of any changes that have been loaded onto our computers in regards to AutoCAD in the last several months. PLEASE HELP!

Autodesk Design Review opens DWF files. Autodesk DWG True View opens DWG
files. Many people who have Autodesk Design Review wanted to open up DWG
files. To make it easy for them, if you open a DWG file with Autdoesk Design
Review, it will convert it to DWF on the fly by using +DWG True View. My
guess is that you have an older version of DWG True View on your system. If
you download and install a newer version

think Autodesk Design Review will be able to once again handle the DWG
files.

I am running Windows 7 professional. I have Design Review 2010 and Dwg Trueview 2010. I ran both hot fixes for 2010. I still have the same problem. DWG files will not open in Review. I get the following message in the attachement.

Please try the following steps:
1. Uninstall all of DWG TrueView and AutoCAD application on your machine.
2. Install DWG TrueView 2010.
3. Restart your machine.
4. Open dwg file in Design Review.

I have the exact same issue. I have an updated ADR, TrueView, and an expired trial of Autocad 2013 installed.

I was able to open DWGs by right clicking on them and choosing Open With>TrueView.

With Design Review AND TrueView installed (and possibly working together), can I open DWG files and "red line" them?  If so, does it convert the DWG file into DWF before I can "red line" them? 

Background: Even though I know AutoCAD very well (I teach night classes) they won't let me have AutoCAD here at the construction site of my day job, for some reason.  I've been using TrueView to examine contractor dwg files.  I need to upgrade TrueView to see new R2013 DWG files, and I figure I might as well get Design Review so I can mark up drawings (assuming I can) , not just alter layers and save as .pdf.

ADR only works on DWF files: if you want to 'redline' DWG files you must use a program that reads and writes DWG (aka AutoCAD or others). Trueview is a viewer with printing and conversion abilities only.

Autodesk does not offer any free backdoor way to edit and markup DWG files directly unless you all want to explore using www.autocadws.com online (a great tool IMHO that is still free) or through collaboration in Autodesk 360's cloud if you all are on current AutoCAD versions.
