Secure Markups and Dynamic Stamps

We would like to use DWF viewer for approving drawings:

- Is there a way to create securely markup a drawing (stamp, symbol) so that the markup cannot be changed by someone else later?

- Does ADR support dynamic content in symbols / markup (e.g. an approved stamp which automatically puts in today's date or offers a form to input the date)?

(these comments pertain to Design Review 2011 and above)

re: securing a markup - there are 2 ways this can be accomplished:

  1. all new markups are automatically locked when you create & save the file.  The next person to open the file will see them as LOCKED.  Of course, its easy for them to UNLOCK them by right-clicking on them and toggling the lock field.  This feature was implemented to prevent accidental changes to markups.
  2. a second way to secure your file is to apply a Digital Signature to the file.  Please open this Design Review HELP topic for all the details: "Add a Digital Signature to a DWFx File".

re: dynamic content - at this time, we do not support dynamic content in symbols or stamps.

Is there any plans to incorporate dynamic stamps soon? Can it be done throught the API? My company also uses it for comments and it would be great to place a stamp and insert a number that shows up with the stamp. Currently we place a stamp and then place text next to the stamp indicating the comment number. The Java language PDF uses makes a nice dynamic stamp with dialog boxes to fill in the stamp but we would prefer to use DR.

There is no way to do this currently, and we have this logged as a feature request that we are tracking for a future release.  Thanks for the question.
