Read Only File

One computer in our office will only open design review files as Read Only.  It doesn't matter if no one else is in the file, it doesn't seem to matter how the file is opened.  Once the file opens it is read only.  Which means he can do markups but has no way to save them.  I looked under Options but didn't see anything there.  Tried restoring to factory defaults there, no luck.  We have uninstalled and reinstalled Design Review and run the Hotfix and still cannot get it to open a file without making it read only.

If you placed a DWG file on the user's PC in their working folder, does the problem go away?

OR

if you log in as yourself on that PC does the problem go away (assuming you yourself do not have this issue)?

 

You seem to be describing a network-level read-only tag at the folders this PC is accessing: there is no fix for it inside the app.
