Measure distance between center of objects

How do I measure the distance between the center of two 3D objects? I have two cylinders with different height, and I want to measure the distance between the cylinders. If I use the length-tool I get to choose the top or bottom center of the cylinders, but then the measured length will only be from point to point. I want the distance between the vertical center of the two cylinders, not between the top or bottoms.

Thank you for your question.

In the current Autodesk Design Review, the 3D Dimension tool does not support to measure the objects' distance by their centerlines.

Your request has been recorded to our Feature Request System (DID:1317495).

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Is there any update on this?  I'm trying to measure distance between centers of two holes in Inventor 2011, and can't seem to figure it out.  Using the "Distance" tool gives minimum distance, and then I have to manually do the math.
