We are currently setting up Vault and vaulting about 65,000 DWGs and publishing DWFs on our server to be available for our production control for batch plotting. I have several questions about the 2008 Design Review capabilities.
We have many legacy drawings that are "D" size drawings but we now only print to "B" size sheets for these prints. Is there any way to set up the batch wizard to recognize that a DWF is larger than 11" x 17" and plot it to 11" x 17" instead of the D size paper?
Currently we create queries using Visual Mfg. to create a list of prints that need to be plotted based on the BOM of our higher assemblies. A customized application then creates a txt file that describes the part numbers and batch stamp that needs to be placed on each print. That txt file is then called by a lisp routine to batch the prints from our server. This requires our production control to have a CAD seat. With the implementation of Vault our drawings are no longer on the server and we will need to check each print out, apply the batch stamp, and print. This is not currently available with Vault. Our vision is to use the published DWFs and eliminate the CAD seats. Is there anyone that knows how (or is it possible) to write a command to have the batch wizard from Design Review batch plot and stamp the DWFs using our Visual Database?
Cheers,
Nathan
