I have written a simple c# web page that allows users (workers on the shop floor) to search for and view dwf files in our system. Basically we have a db table (ItemMaster) that holds part numbers, descriptions and links to the file. A user enters a partial part number in a text box, selects a button and table is displayued with a list of partnumbers with corresponding links to the file on the server. When a user clicks the link a new tab in IE 8 opens and the dwf is loaded into ADR which is embedded in the tab/browser. The first time this is done in a browser instance it takes 15 - 20 seconds for ADR and the dwf to load. But each time thereafter, provided the browser is not closed, it takes 1 - 3 seconds.
I realize the easiest solution is to tell our users to just open first thing in the morning and leave it running all day but we have users sharing workstations, one user logsoff and another logs on.
Why is this?
Is there some application settings/options tha could be altered/set to get ADR to load faster? Is there a stripped down version? All we use is zoom and pan to view 2d bw part drawings.
