New File Versions Keep Getting Created

Well this is annoying. I have 4 files, each with a single part in them. I have then created a 5th file and used "Insert into current design" to create an assembly using all four parts. When I save the assembly file, all of my individual part files get updated and need to be resaved. If I close any of them (causing them to be saved) or save them manually, the assembly file then says I have out of date versions for each part file and I have to "get the latest versions", causing all of the part files to need to be resaved again.

Do you have the xref'd designs (4 component designs) open while you are creating the assembly?

In Preferences there are two options that may be impacting the save behavior and creating new versions. There's the auto-save option (interval) and the save on close option in Preferences.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,
