BUG: Mirroring spawns readonly groups on renamed groups

I've found a definitive bug with Fusion 360, but not too sure where to report it, so I'll just post it here. I'm using Autodesk Fusion v2.0.1484 on Mac OS X 10.10.3 (Yosemite)

Steps to produce are as follows

  • Create a new design
  • Create a sketch and draw any shape
  • Create another sketch on the same plane and draw any shape
  • Extrude both sketch profiles to any value, you should now have 2x bodies
  • Use Create > Mirror and mirror the extruded objects
  • Select "Pattern Bodies" from the popup and mirror over any plane
  • You should end up with a mirror group called: Mirror1 Group (4)
  • Now rename the group to whatever
  • Next, in the timeline, double click the extrude operation to edit it
  • Change the value and click ok
  • The group Mirror1 Group (4) has been recreated
  • ...and whatever still exists, but is read only
  • Go ahead an try to delete the other group

Fusion shows the following warning:

Warning: some selected object is readonly and cannot be deleted.

The browser should now look something like this:

I have a design with about 5 of these stubborn folders, and would appreciated if there's some workaround on how I can delete it.

Hi Spark, I just tried Mirror for a body, and got the mirror group folder with the original and mirrored bodies in it.  I can delete one body or other in the folder, but cannot directly delete folder itself in browser as you said.

It appears the solution is to delete the mirror event in the timeline, which will result in the mirror group folder going away and just left with original body.  You can also suppress the timeline event instead of deleting it, so that can bring back at later if desired.

Let me know if that solves the difficulties.

This is definitely a bug, if you get the read only spawned folder, it's stuck there forever, and should never have happened in the first place. Let's see what the Fusion devs make of this. jan.priban has forwarded the issue to the developer team.
