user parameters are not updating in CAM Setups when using 'from solid' stock

pretty simple exercise keeping everything parametric:

i define a rectangle with user parameters in a sketch: length and width, i then extrude the rectangle as a box with a user paramter: thickness .. i then set up a CAM setup using this solid as my stock box. all good and working as expected so far.

i then go back into modeling workspace and change the thickness parameter say from 2 to 3 mm. just to be sure i do a 'Compute All'. i go back to the CAM workspace and check but my stock box has not adapted. when i go into the setup i still see the old thickness there. Even when i remove the object from selection and choose the solid again it still shows the old thickness value.

Only fix i've found so far: edit the extrude operation: just double click on it or select it in the timeline and do edit feature, no need to change anything, just hit ok and then only the parameters in the stock setup of the CAM space is updated with the new/current user parameter value.  So it turns out this fix only works from time to time.

Even with this simple object it took me a while to figure out why my operations weren't cutting as expected. In a complex design it would be impossible to check all values to be sure there isn't one not updating. I think it's crucial to be able to rely on the fact that everything is updating as expected, otherwise it makes parametric design really unpredictable.

just in case: i'm on a Mac, not sure if this  issue is in the windows release as well.

I think this issue might be related to the one that I posted about a week ago:

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/computer-aided-machining-cam/problem-using-user-parameters-with-cam-2d...

There appears to be quite a serious defect, related to the use of User Parameters in Model mode, which causes all sorts of problems on the CAM side. So far, no one at Autodesk has even acknowledged the bug that I documented. 😞

FWIW, I am using Fusion on a Mac also.

Not denying that there is a bug, but have either of you submitted a bug report along official channels? If your only course of action is with this forum, there is a possibility it might get overlooked.

 Hi @rumpelstielz,

We are sorry for this problem. And yes, @gerry_kmack it's similar with the issue that you mentioned.
It has been fixed and it will be out in the September 7th release.

Regards,

Meletis
