Face is opposite Tools orientation?

So, this is a new one for me. Model I'm working on, need to start off by poking a few mounting holes in the bottom. Flip the model over and go to work. Make my setup, choose the face that will be "Z" and the edge that will be "X", flip the X axis, hit OK. Choose Drill, select my tool, define the speeds, choose the faces, select the drill cycle. Click OK, greeted with an error. Double clicking on the red exclamation point tells me: The face is opposite tools orientation.

Odd....so I try using Tool Orientation, error persists.

I've restarted Fusion, and the error is still there.

I can do a Bore cycle as well as a Profile, so it seems to be related to the drilling dialog. Or something....

This is one of those that’s hard to tell what’s going on without having the part. But what looks like is happening is the holes aren’t parallel to the Z axis. If you did a sketch of points in the center of the holes and change from select faces to select points are you able to drill the holes?

The reason why selecting milling boundaries and selecting holes is different is with the milling ops you are selecting (creating) 2D geometry and in drilling it’s looking at the full 3D definition of the cylinder.

Bah! Shame on me for not sharing it, considering how many time I tell new people the same thing!

If they are out of square, I'm somewhat puzzled as to how they might have gotten that way, as the manner of construction is rather straightfoward

I think I found the issue. I forgot one of the holes was .02" shallower (due to an initial design constriction) Once I made it the same depth as the other 3 holes, it worked just fine. Although, that doesn't change the suggestion by the error message

I have reported this on ticket CAM-4289. The good news is I found that by just selecting Select same diameter on the geometry tab the operation will generate as expected.

Huh, so it was a bug? As I mentioned in my previous post, I was thinking it had something to do with one of the drills being shallow(er). However, although I corrected the depth, some time after that the error came back but I was able to get around it by making a new drilling operation and had no issue with it that time.
