I took a basic class in middle school on engineering, and we used autodesk inventor. I am semi-familiar with inventor, but i do not have the money for it, and i am looking for free similar programs for an engineering science fair experiment. In the expirement i am going to attempt to create an atttachable feature to a sousaphone that distributes weight evenly, and i plan on designing a kind of arm that extends from the sousaphone onto the shoulder, and is adjustable in angle and length. i need software in which i can create a model design before i create the real thing for the project. Can anyone suggest a pogram to get? Hopefully one similar to Inventor, if possible.

If you are a student still you may be able to get Inventor for free. See here.

I am currently a high school student yet i am not enrolled in any technology courses at the current time. Would that still count as student?
