PM Reply - Why do I need to choose who to reply to?

Why is it, that when I reply to a PM, I still have to choose who it goes to?

For example, Jay_B sent me a message. I replied and had to choose which Jay_B to reply to. Why? I want to reply to the one that sent me the message! Why on earth would I want to reply to someone other then the one that sent me the message? If I forward the message, sure, let me choose who it goes to.

Because we kept all of the user accounts and their posts when migrating to the new platform rather than starting all over as most do.

Includes approximately 12 years and about 6 different software incarnations in to the current setup.

EDIT: And they are aware of this and are looking for a fix

But, if I'm replying to someone, shouldn't it just go to the person that sent me the original message? I can understand creating a new message and seeing a, "Which Bob did you mean" message.

Oh well, not a big deal. Just a little annoying, that's all.

At least you can now. :smileyhappy:
When we first switched you could not send one if there were more than one name.

A core issue they have been working on and it will work as expected sooner than later.

To get an Idea of users migrated just do a user search for bill.

Thanks
