Shall we have them disable the existing spam filters and see what happens...?

I'd actually take the bet that the mass flooding wouldn't change significantly.  I'm sure the spammers would prefer not to used unicode characters, but clearly they're satisfied doing so.

I find it difficult to believe that sending a report or PM would make the slightest bit of difference. The spam is only removed when the headoffice of Autodesk opens

I find it very easy to believe. When I've found spam flooding a forum I RIC and the poster is usually blocked within a couple of minutes and the post are removed soon after that.

Spam is removed before the Autodesk head-office opens. I'm 3 hours ahead in the US-EST (UTC -5)and see the spam removed as I describe above way before things open in San Francisco in PDT (UTC -8).

Agreed, RIC'ing spam is a very effective method of getting spam removed.  If a mod is online, it usually happens within minutes,  It is not however, unusual for RIC'd spam to remain for several hours during times of low moderator coverage  (which currently means RIC'ing is less effective for non-US time zones)

I now do understand why there is the Give Solutions box on the page when you click up the menu tree to Autodesk Community:

Give Solutions.jpg

So that you know when to go to a Forum and report Spam. Otherwise I have no need to give a solution in Inventor or Revit Architecture or whatever add (at least for me) Forum pops up here from my signed in Home Page.

Yeah, I think a lot more people are going to become aware of just how much spam gets posted in the Autodesk forums. Many users don't visit the subforums that get hammered with spam.  For instance, I don't think I've ever reported spam in the Inventor forums before the redesign, but now all those zero reply spam messages show up front and center on the Community landing page.  Especially between 2 and 6AM EST, when that box is going to show nothing but adverts for escorts.

I think they took the filter off. Front page latest posts listing 14 pages of guess what, the first one time stamped as 9.07  the last one as 12.57 thats 4 hours. It just happens to start when I start work (honest purely coincidental) but I now have half a days work finished and this is when I try and use the forums.

GOOD MORNING AMERICA. usually someone starts work about now.

This software (Lithium) does not have a "filter" capable of blocking spam... sad, but true.

I started reporting it 2-3 hrs ago

Another strange point. Complaints (this thread) don't show up on that front page, with the list of latest posts, but spam does.

Hey all,

I just wanted to step in here and post some feedback concerning spam.

We do try to stay ahead of Spam and remove it as quickly as we can, realizing that it is the last thing that you want to see on the forums, and it is the last thing that we want to see as well. As soon as we get ahead of the activity, the spammers find a new way, it is unfortunately it is an uphill battle.

Using RIC is a great way for our Community to proactively let us know that you have seen spam posts. As you can imagine, we can not read every post, even though we sure do try to keep up with them, and appreciate your support with that!

But obviously implementing tools in a preventative measure is the best way to curb this behavior.

In saying that, we will soon have the opportunity to do so. With this upgrade, and with the most recent changes, we will be leveraging a new tool within the Lithium system to curb Spam behavior. We have been in discussion with them a lot concerning this subject, and now the tool has come to fruition. While I will not go into specifics, we do hope that there will be a measurable difference in the amount of spam which is posts in the near future.

Thanks for your patience with this!

This is good news. I understand you don't want to go into specifics, because you won't want the spammers to know how the tool works.
