Re: First impression

4 days later, still sucks.

Still very slow, cumbersome, difficult to track and navigate, unintuitive.  Makes me sad - which I mentioned in another post in the 2011 forum, but I'm pretty sure I won't be able to get back there any time soon.

Topic at the top of my head #38: why not have the Post button somewhere where you don't haver to scroll down to find it?  Like maybe where the Reply button was? eh?

lithium was probably a bad choice, autodesk (but may be the only choice for me if I continue to try to find some way to remain productive using this new forum setup)

Unfortunately, with this new web based discussion forum, I can't tell what you agreed to because I resist the long jump towards the top to click on a link that looks like your response is lined up underneath, to wait 20 seconds for it to load to see if I might also agree with what you've agreed to or have any other thougt, valuable or not, about.

But if you're the JP I've seen for years in the NNTP groups, I guess I'll just believe that I probably agree with you too.

Wish I knew what it was though...

I agreed that ASCII is fine and no need for all the bells and whistles, and yessir same JP.

Note to autodesk/lithium:

It took me literally 30 seconds to get that smiley to insert, btw.  After the page did a "2010 white fade"....

Using Chrome the "First Impression" thread would send me to my browser home page when I clicked on it - weird, it doesn't happen with any other thread. I fixed it by running the Chrome extension IE Tab on the Autodesk forum. It has a setting to automatically run this site in an IE tab so I don't have to switch browsers.

First impression... both better, and worse, than previous.  Took a bit of fiddling to get the setting to a point where I consider them acceptable (see image) that lets me see the content and structure.  This requires a sacrifice of screen space though, with far fewer top-level threads per page at the board level.

I really was expecting something better.

Oh look, I can change the thread title on a per-post basis. What fun!

Agreed.

Quick, somebody tell me what I just agreed with.
