The Applied Technology Council (ATC) is conducting a webinar on "Improvements to BIM Structural Software Interoperability" (the ATC-75 report) on Wednesday, September 25 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm EDT. The Purpose of the Webinar is to provide training on how to use IFC (Industry Foundation Class) files, the global open source file format, to transfer basic structural model information reliably from various commonly used structural software. The ATC-75 report documents the process that led to many of these new exchanges which will be demonstrated in this webinar. Webinar participants will be instructed on what model information can be dependably exchanged, which software has adopted the IFC standard, and the techniques to implement a sample of the model exchanges covered in the recently published ATC-75 report. The model exchange techniques shown can save firms time and effort by leveraging the ability to transfer robust structural Building Information Modelings (BIMs) without remodeling.
