question about a pipe profile label

see the attached image. I am trying to create a pipe label in this profile that will "float" and not be anchored to a leader.  I would like to put this label up in the middle of the pipe, but it keeps flipping to either side of the text.  Anybody know how I can create a label that I can just place as text? Thanks

Edit the LabelStyle's DraggedState from Stacked Text to AsComposed, turn off the display of the leader.

Another option: if your label style attachment point is set to center line of the feature and text attachment is set to 1 of the middle settings, the label places itself at the middle center point of the pipe. You can then slide the label along the center line to where you want it. With orientation set to object the label is always aligned with and centered in the pipe.

Right click the lable and "Toggle Leader".
