extraneous element in alignment

An alignment was created that has an obsolete BC/EC circle associated with it (from an old alignment) and now the user can't erase that circle (or even change its layer) without effecting the new alignment. Is there a way to erase or disassociate the circle from the new alignment without exploding the new alignment and recreating it?

The user is operating Civil 3-D 2008.

There absolutely should be, but it's impossible to tell you how without
experimenting on an original file. Attach ONLY the alignment in this file.

The user has identified the troublesome circles in the dwg for you, but neither one of us can find a editor/tool to get rid of them.

Thank you very much! (do you want a charge number? 😉

Those circles are marking the 'through point' of the curves. Change the
alignment style's markers to not include the Through points. If you still
want the markers at the bc/ec/pcc/prc points, make sure to set the marker
for those.

"Through point" - That's not a term with which I'm familiar. Thanks for the info! I'll pass it on to the operator. She'll be most appreciative.
...So, "through points" can be anywhere along an alignment curve? They need not be at midpoints?
