Curve editing

i designed an alignment in civil 3d using tangent tanget with curves option in alignment toolbox.However i need to edit it to free spiral cirve spiral.I right click the alignment went to geometry editor,every time i select the tanget to edit it i get the message,"Both ends of selected entity already has attachments".Can somebody clear it to me what exactly it is???

Remove the existing curve with the Delete sub-entity tool on the geometry editor before trying to add the scs.
