Which workstations should i select?

I have been asked to decide which workstations the company should buy.

We are working with large 3D Mechanical models with large Architects 3D-models attaced as Xrefs.

Today we use HP XW4400 plus one HPZ200.

The HP Z200 seems to be just about usable except for long waiting times when models are regenerated. Present graphics card on this PC is  NVIDIA Quaddro FX1700.

The decision shoud be one of these:

HP Workstation Z200

HP Workstation Z400

HP Workstation Z600

HP Workstation Z800

Of course the decision depends on the value we get from our investment. Personally i have a feeling that the Z400 or Z600 may be a balanced choice.

Does someone have some experiences to share?

Check over in the hardware area (it under "Getting started" for some odd reasoning...).  Lots of reading material over there.

we have been usign HP Z400's for everyday CAD, modelling (Rhino, SketchUp, 3dsMax) and Revit work here for 6 months to a year and they are fine for us.

Our visualisation team uses HPZ 600's and 800's but they are doing high end renderings with V-ray so need the extra resources when rendering.

... have been searching for the hardware area but I can't find it. Can you specify please?

Seems that HP Z400 will do perfectly then 🙂
