Warning: Invalid block name "" found.

Does anyone know how to stop getting this error when xreferencing a file? We
are running ADT1. I have purged the xreferenced file and continue to get
this error.

Warning: Invalid block name "" found. File (file name here) needs recovery.
XREF1 loaded.

Dustin,

Run RECOVER on the xref source file. You should see the error being fixed.
Then purge and save, and reload the Xref into the target file.

Open the drawing and using the express tool DBVIEW look for a block with no
name...in other words you'll see a yellow and black icon that looks like an
LP record...search for one of these without a name to the right of it...that
will be the problem block. Click on it and then in the right side list box
click on "string" and enter a name for it in the text box below it. then
click apply. Save it and your problems will go away.

What a shameless plug for a third party app -- tsk, tsk, Terry.

Matthew,
For those who may not know, Blankblock.dvb is in Terry's free stuff section.

If Terry has a solution, should he keep that information secret?

Dustin,

Once you get it gone, it should stay gone until whatever caused the blank block
(bad lisp routine, IBTK error) happens again. Don't be surprised if it comes
back, but it's definitely tamable with a little effort.

It was a joke guys, playing off of a previous thread (perhaps in a different
NG) where people were complaining about posters suggesting third party apps.
If you find that thread and read my posts there you will see that I am
playing here, don't be so serious.

Richard Binning's advise did the trick
no need to gab on about who is plugging what

You may have already tried this, but "Audit" renames the block.
