Support file paths

Is there any way whatsoever to put a directory path into
Acad's Support File Search paths and have it also search
EVERY subdirectory under it??? Trying not to have to
list EVERY single path in the Support path listings.
Any help/advice is appreciated!

what exactly are you trying to accomplish? if you store support info. in the
drawings directory path, that support file will be used...

You can, but you have to build a custom search utility to do so.
AutoCAD by itself will not search subfolders under a folder in the
search path.

Although, it probably would be a nice addition if there was a sysvar
to allow this.

I *think* (have not tested this) you cad place a shortcut to the additional
folders inside the folder you are going to add and autocad will search
those. I know this works with the plotter support paths, but I have never
tried it with any of the others.

Hope that made sense....

It is a method, but be careful of dead shortcuts... I have experienced lock-ups
or very slow response when using good links to mapped drives or very active
servers.

Sure you can, You can use the Setenv and Getenv
lisp functions.

(getenv "ACAD")

returns your paths.

You can write a lisp routine to do a search and
replace or something.

Do a search in the customizing NG I know a saw some
utils others have written to do this.
