I'm looking for a document with a master legend for NCS symbols. Primarily for surveyed utilities to be used in Topography drawings. We're moving to the NCS template and I'm having a surprisingly hard time finding a list of these symols/blocks to recreate them... I need everything I can find:
Gas symbols (Valves, Meters, Manholes, etc.)
Water symbols (Valves, Meters, Manholes, etc.)
Power symbols (Poles, Vaults, Transformers, etc.)
Telephone symbols (Junction Boxes, Pedestals, etc.)
Cable symbols (Junction Boxes, Pedestals, etc.)
Sanitary Sewer, Storm Sewer (Manholes, Catch Basins, etc.)
Monumentation (MONS, Benchmarks, etc.)
Traffic (Junction Boxes, Signalization, Signage, etc.)
...you get the idea. I need the whole ball of wax! We're set with the linetypes and naming conventions, just need all the symbols.
Any useful documents, or directions to them are greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance for any help!
What you need to do is check with the local agencies that will review the plans. THEY are the holder of the standards, not the NCS. Around here, each of the big 3 municipalities have their own standard symbols, and the smaller ones use ODOT / APWA (combined).
NCS is a good start for layering, but the locals will have the final say.
