Service Pack Updates

When I do my installations, I choose a path other than the default path that
AutoCAD wants to install itself. Up until the 2006 version, everything has
been fine. All patches and updates were able to find the program easily.
Also, I still have side-by-side installations on the computer. For some
reason, my AutoCAD 2006 installation is not able to be found by the service
pack install program. Therefore, I am unable to apply any service packs to
my AutoCAD 2006 which I use most, because everybody in our company is either
using 2006 or 2004. How can I resolve this problem, so that I can stop
getting the fatal errors that these service packs are supposed to fix?

I do have one computer that I allowed a default path. The service pack
installation program doesn't work on that either.

Our office uses non default installation paths too for ADT6 (much to my horror) and the service pack for 6 installs just fine.

ADT6 to be clear....

I got it fixed. When I would get a fatal error, the return message from
Autodesk was sending me to to the wrong service pack file. It looked right,
but it wasn't. I got the right one and applied. it. Hopefully now, the
dumb fatal errors will stop.
