Salaries...Again!

I am new to this news group and I was wondering if somebody new a place
were you could get comprehensive information about duties of a CAD
manger and salaries. I am going to negotiate later this week and would
like a basis to start from. Thanks.

Casey -

Welcome to the CAD Manager group.
Go to this URL which is a search engine for the Community groups
which includes CADManager
http://discussion.autodesk.com/WebX?14@@.ee6b2d9. Put in the key
word salary, leave the groups as current and then change the time
to All. A whole list of past message groups will appear that talk
about CAD salaries. You can do the same thing with the word
duties.

Casey,
Cadence magazine's website has a CAD Managers newsleter by Robert Green that has a great job description for a CAD Manager. I am going through the same process myself. I'm trying to get my supervisors to see that I'm not just a power user anymore. I have to install, configure the software (LDD2i), train the other users, etc. http://www.cadenceweb.com/news/technews/cad_manager/0600_1.html
This is the address. There is a ton of information there including a salary survey.

Hi Casey!

Here's two links-- re. salaries, for you:

http://careerjournal.com/salaries/industries/construction/20000307-architects-tab.html

http://www.e-architect.com/news/aiarchitect/oct00/alternative.asp

http://www.e-architect.com/news/research/salaries.asp

Although the data is a year or two old... you could probably interpolate...

You could order the latest AIA Firm Survey 2000–2002 (AIA $35)
here's the main weblink: http://www.e-architect.com/

Also check my document that I posted to the adesk customer files ng, called
CAD--Coordinator_Responsibilities.

HTH.... let me know if you need further info. or q's...
