Profile

All,

I have never really utilized profiles to set up autocad on multiple computers before. I recently created a company profile, exported it to a folder on the server. My problem is that when i import the profile and close autocad, it defaults to the original profile. How do i tell autocad to use my profile when ever it is opened?

Thanks

Dave

Thanks,
Dave

After you imported the Profile. Did you set it current?

You can also add the profile and or workspace to the target field of the icon used to start the program like this; C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012\acad.exe /nologo /p "C3D Metric 2.0" /w "C3D2.0"

It only worked when I changed the shortcut, but by default the shortcut was telling it to use the civil 3d imperial profile. I thought about erasing the ext to the profile all together, but was afraid there would be un-foreseen consequences.

Thanks,
Dave

If you're nervous about editing the shortcut. Make a copy of it first that you can revert to if you encounter trouble. But if you were using the shortcut that specified Civil 3D imperial. That would explain why you weren't getting your new profile.

Glad it helped.
