PassWord Protection

Does any one know of a good PassWord Protection program for AutoCAD files?
One that would allow someone to open, plot, measure, but not save or save as
to another file name.

Mr. Jones, Did you ever find what you were looking for? I have a simuliar situation. I would like to have all of your wants plus the ability to lock drawing layers with a password. Example, the engineering design drawing layers would be locked with a password and the production engineering drawing layers would have another password.

If anyone can help, please write back.

Also, you any of you know of some companies that share adrawing with operation engineering like I have suggested?

Thanks,

You could try exporting the drawing as a bitmap, inserting it into a new drawing, and scaling it accodingly. Bind the image into the drawing. I am not sure about plotting, but you can open it and scale it. Dave Alexander

Hi all!

Have any of you chaps seen some
shareware called 'CADLOCK'?

<------blurb from cadlock
website-------->

CADLock 3.30 Software

CADLock fulfills a need of many organizations by providing
the ability to produce truly secure drawing files. Secure files may be password
protected and can be programmed to grant various levels of data access to
recipients. CADLock has become the de facto standard worldwide for publishing
secure AutoCAD data. CADLock 3.30 supports all versions of AutoCAD from AutoCAD
R13c4 to AutoCAD 2000i and all versions of AutoCAD LT from AutoCAD LT 97 to
AutoCAD LT 2000i.

Give it a go, I found it quite comprehensive...!

Good luck!
