Limit the number of "Paper Size" choices?

We have laser printers, and a plotter.
We don't have any CAD Standards.
And the person in charge doesn't help that much, except he knows how to turn
on and off switches/variables.

Do you remove the number of choices of paper sizes the different
printers/plotters have? They will use any size that looks good. B size
plotted out to D size.

We have titleblock that have been done in inches, and drawing coming from
suppliers that are in metric, without titleblocks, and we have to put the
two together. Now nothing fits those papersizes.

I can't convince anyone to sit down and make a set of titleblocks that fit
the paper sizes we have.

We rarely plot to plotter. Most of the stuff, even the E sizes, goes to the
11x17 laser printer.

I have my own set.

yes, I do. On the TDS400 Plotter it is limited to E1, D, C and a custom.
The 11x17 Printer is limited to Ledger and Letter.
I do this mostly to limit confusion, to avoid having to sort through a few
dozen sheet sizes.

I though there was a better answer.

Thanks. This is something I can use.

B size

plotted out to D size.

Yes I do this here... I have about 30 page setups or so, all kept in a
template file for easy access. Maybe 5 or 6 that are special for each specific
device( 2 large format plotters, 2 color lasers, 3 B&W lasers). I also
have the 5 or 6 most used page setups define in our DWT files for easy
start on new drawings. This has cut down the number of mis-matched outputs
from our various skilled users and as well as made for easy recall to plot.
My users don't have to figure out which defaults to use, just pick device
and paper size and off you go. Initially took a little time to setup, but
once in place my "fix-it time" and individual plotting education has been
severely reduced.

Management here would have a field day with mis-matched outputs. Then I
would have to step in and find a fix. I did this as much for freeing up
my bill able time as it is was for keeping to company standards.

Yes I've restricted write access to the .pc3 files which our network shares
for plotting, and left only our company standard paper sizes. I also left
one pc3. file which could be adjusted by all just in case there was an
"abnormal" plot which one of drafters need.

Do you have a "Filter Paper Sizes" option in your various Printer Properties?
