Inventory Advisor Tool

Does anyone know anything about the new Inventory Advisor Tool?

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=10243574

I downloaded and installed it, but it is apparently a trial.  According to the documentation, you get the unlock code from an Autodesk rep., but it makes no mention of where to request the code and I cannot find anything in the software.

"Upon launching the application for the first time, you will be prompted to input a user name and unlock code. An Autodesk representative will provide this information to you"

Is this a "free" tool (included in our subscription) that we need to obtain a code for via our reseller?

What do you mean by "Spicework is not a tool to make an inventory for Autodesk products .Results in reporting are not really usable." How exactly are you searching for products? I'm looking for :

- Product name (OK)

- Version (OK but I don't need)

- Location (not found)

- Sérial number (not found)

- Install Type (Standamone or Network : not found)

- Language (Not found)

I can't use SpiceWork to inventory Autodesk software with missing informations.

- Location (not found) - This would not be part of any install data. You would need to base location on computer naming standard in your organization * S?rial number (not found) - Not part of normal inventory for any SAM tool. Would need to look in appropriate location in Windows Registry to obtain the information. For example, AutoCAD 2013 (English) would store this information under the key below in string and DWORD values: * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R19.0\ACAD-B001:409 - Install Type (Standamone or Network : not found) - See information under Serial Number above. - Language (Not found) - See information under Serial Number above. Hi everybody,

Happy new year 2013.

I hope it'll be better than 2012!!!

I'm looking for new release of AIA able to inventory all autodesk product including 2013 and Suites 2013.

The old release AIA 3.95 can only sacn Autodesk products prior to 2012.

I would like to know if Autodesk will develop a new version and when will it be available?

Thanks

JR

AIA is no longer available for public consumption. The developer of the application, ClearApps, does however have a version called Network Inventory Advisor (both free and paid) which can now pick up products 2012 and older. You would need to check with them concerning 2013. http://www.clearapps.com

I'd tested NIA4 (build 4.0.2101). It seems able to scan now Autodesk 2013 products;

Thanks

What does 1 mean, is it independent and does it mean alone?

@egonzalowrote:

Hi, I m using Autodesk Inventory Advisor tool to get the numbers of license already used on my LAN, and that's work great, but I want to get the installation type too, and this field only shows some numbers, 0,1,2,3, I'm looking  for some information about this, what does it means each number? Please if someone knows something about it, reply me, or maybe some post or manual to get more info about the tool.

Thanks and Regards

2009 and older would be standalone, 2010-2016 would be network.
