Hi, Thanks for your alerte mail. I still not found a good answer for my request below : -------------------------- Hi every body, I tested Autodesk Inventory Advisor (AIA_3.95.1778.zip) to scan my computer that contains Autodesk 2012 and 2013 products. I get a report from AIA, it only contains Autodesk 2012 product, no trace about Autodesk 2013 products installation. Is AIA able to identify the Autodesk 2013 products ? exist some patch to solve this trouble ? ------------------------- JR CHHOR jean.chhor@insight.com

I received some additional information

3 refers to  a network license

1 and 2 refer to standalone licenses

0 refers to a newer license where the type is stored in another file. Autodesk’s tools can determine what this is.

when you go into the Autodesk Inventory Advisor to Reports and you run the "by software" report and not the serial number you will find the 2013 installations. But no serialnumbers are found in this reports

Hi

,

Thanks for your anwser.

So AIA is not fully exploited.
During the inventory, you need the serial number, the name and version of the product and the type of installation....
When Autodesk will release a workable version?

The problem with the tool is that autodesk provides this as just a tool to help you getting inventories from your assets.

It ofcourse says nothing about usage of your software, I have not found anything about an update of the software so that R 2013 will be found.

I sent a request to ClearApps LLC the owner of the inventory tool. When I recieve there answer I will let you know

I tested NIA 4 beta it detects Autodesk 2013 products but can not find serial number and installation.type.

2013 product detection is not available at this time. It is forthcoming.

Other than Inventory advisor 4 or Asset locator who does not work with Autodesk 2013 products, do you know another tool to make an correct inventory of Autodesk products?

If you are just looking for installation data (e.g. Add or Remove Programs), pretty much any software asset management tool on the planet can show you that data. The easiest way is to search on the Publisher of "Autodesk*". Note the wildcard at the end. That will ensure you pick up any listed as "Autodesk, Inc." or similar variation. This will show you absolutely everything installed, including plug-ins, service packs, etc. Spiceworks is one of the more common tools out there that can do this and it's free. Hi baker975,

Thanks for your answer.

I've tested Spiceworks to scan Autodesk Software.

Spicework is not a tool to make an inventory for Autodesk products .
Results in reporting are not really usable.
