With the advent of the CAD Manager module for AutoCAD, I would like to see this concept taken a step further. This is specifically in regard to two areas File naming and detail libraries. I have written several VBA that address this and although I am not a hack by any means I really feel this to have great benefits. This VBA is based on an attributed block that uses SQL statement to population a database with a great deal of information including AutoCAD variables such as storage path, reference files attached, number and names of layout tabs etc etc. This is then a searchable database via a WEB based search engine. I would like to know if anyone else is doing something like this or thinks it to be a benefit?
