etransmit vs pack n go...

Hi all,

I'm curious to find out whether there are any benefits of using
either etransmi or Pack n Go over the other.

Thanks

Etransmit will automatically create a .zip or self-extracting .exe file for
you, or just use a dump folder, like Pack n Go, and files can be easily
added. Also, there is a problem with Pack n Go in that it often grabs wrong
files of the same name. For instance, we might have a topo-ex.dwg as an
xref, and it would get a topo-ex.dwg, but from a completely wrong folder!!!
Autodesk released a patch for Pack n Go that was supposed to fix this, but
it did not. We've never had the problem with Etransmit.

With e-transmit, you can either create a zip file or folder set of files.
Drawings that are added will be converted along with the loaded drawing.

That should do for a start.

Pack-n-go was an older program. E-transmit is the current, supported
version. Additionally, I believe that e-transmit picks up things like ctb
and pc3 files, which didn't exist in the packngo era.

Why would you use the older version?

e-transmit is the way to go. You can send transmittals with it, create a web
page for your file(s) (although it looks like something created with
Frontpage, yuck), zip or exe the files and you can save them back to
previous versions automatically.
