electronic redlining

Is anybody here redlining on screen instead of on paper? We have been
wondering about options and programs for this. Is plotting to a .pdf and
using Adobe a good way to go? What are the limits. The info I could find on
Adobe doesn't list a lot of redlining options. What other products are
available? Any opinions on RasterX products?

Thanks!

Adobe's Acrobat is the original redlining tool: Got really big
with corporations back in version 3 when fortune 500 companies
started using it as the sole means of communications.

There is Autodesk's own Volo View (not the lame free version, but
the decent one that costs money):

And there are tons more out there: a quick search in your
favorite Internet Search Engine should reveal a healthy dozen or
so solutions.

Its garbage if you use geometric tolerancing. Had to change the way I
draw to accommodate that overpriced turkey. I would second the Volo View
2. Autovue runs about 2k a seat and doesn't have 100% compatibility with
AutoCAD. The only good thing I can say about AV is it will view most
every format out there.
