Editing a PDF

Yes, I know this is an Adesk forumn but I'm hoping I can get some info from other CAD Managers who might have experience in creating PDF's of CAD standards and practices.

I'm in the process of making a Desk Instruction in Word and then print as a PDF to generate links of the text to allow for easy navigation (it's about 50+ pages).

Problem is, the only way to make any modifications later (after it's been PDF'd and published), the best I can find is the claim I'd have to edit the original file in Word and then reprint to PDF, but that means I'd have to relink all the text again. There's no way that's acceptable.

Any suggestions would be helpful at this point.

Sorry if this isn't the place for this.

Any reason you are not just posting the MSWord document to your users? Simply change the extension to DOT, and it locks them out from editing (or do so with Server access rights).

Good point!

Thanks.

The original request was to make this a PDF so the users cannot modify it (it's how they do everything along these lines). I never even thought of this option.

I will have to do such and see how it's received.
