.dwt "not valid"

I've seen other threads about drawing files (saved in later versions), but what about when the .dwt "is not a valid drawing file"?

I have a .dwt which I created (and loads on my computer just fine), but we just ran the first test on another machine, and when he loaded the .dwt in his options, closed CAD, and reopened it, it gave the error "(file path)cpm.dwt is not a valid drawing file". When we looked at his command prompt, it said, ".dwt is not on file".

If it matters, I'm on 2013, he's on 2010, and we have some techs on 2008. But you can't "save as" a year when it's a .dwt, right?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

The only difference between a .DWT and a .DWG is the last letter of the extension.  2010 will NOT read a dwt saved from 2013.

To get around that, do your save as a .DWG in 2010 format, and then rename the file with the .dwt extension.  If your other users need to access it as well, save it as a 2007 DWG, and then rename.
