Copy files from onw server to another and vice versa on daily basis

Hi,

we have Engineering consultancy company with all the disciplines, but the problem is one of our discipline is sitting away from our local server and they are connected with 2mbps leased line, so they are working on a separate server, hence we are not able to connect them with our standard Xref’ loop. Is there any software which backup and restore date from server-1 to server-2 and vice versa? I am not expecting a full back up, only the updated files backup and restore on daily basis.

are a couple of options out there. it's a common problem.

Microsoft offers DFS, distributed file server. but it doesn't lock out the file if someone on the other end is in it.

Other solutionwith lock-out are Availl,  Globalscape. The software categorty is 'file replication'. There should be more out there,

I cannot tell too much about it. i'm not an IT person. they all have pros and cons, some n functionality, some in $.

I cannot recommend a system. Due to the large file size of CAD files, the replication can be tricky. it can be still too slow fo rthe average user.
