Conference room designs

Good day,

I've been tasked with helping layout the conference room space in our new office. We'd use the space to collaborate with team members as well as staff training.  Are there any conference room presentation or networking technologies I should look into?

Thanks,

ervin

Projector and screen?
white boards? 'smart' boards?
a cluster of flat screen monitors?
Wifi? wired connections?
Apple TV (not used for entertainment)?
Tables and chairs?

Do you need to higher an Architect or Interior designer PLUS a technology consultant to do it properly?

One really cool technology to look into is a wall covering which mimics a whiteboard surface.  Its applied over top of an existing wall, and allows dry-erase markers to be used directly on the wall.

Just beward of ghosting with those wallcoverings: it's not as good as the 'real deal' and the first time someone uses a Sharpie... . Look into using back-painted glass (yes, it comes as magnetic too) as an alternate, on stand-office or on clips: everyone has them but here is one site to get you started www.clarusglassboards.com/

Talk with a local DIRTT representative about their ability to embed a monitor, or monitors, into their plug-and-play glass walls too. Yep, writing surface PLUS monitor in one.

Thanks for the input. We're currently using webex gotomeeting to help collaberate with consultants but currently just have a desktop in the conference room hooked up to the 55" LED. Issues have popped up when vendors come in with their own laptops. Going to have to figure out a way to better have them access the LED.

ESPN.....

one item we found handy was a ceiling mounted document camera connected to the video conferencing.  Throw the plans on the conference table, and everyone can review them in real time.

APPLE TV or similar device, bluetooth connect to it and their presentation is on the screen.

Go to your local Apple Store and inquire about using it for presentations just like you asked here. They should be able to explain it all.

I believe Google's new Chromecast does the same thing but you will need to confirm that first.

Alternative - look into chromecast, a streaming solution for $35
