BS1192 Part5 2007

Hi,

Has anyone got any information or documentation relating to the new BS1192 standards?

I am in the process of putting together cad standards for Building Services and I heard that BS1192 had been updated.

I have done a search but I am unable to find anything,

Thanks

I believe it IS being updated at the moment. At the time of writing I believe the standard is at a consultative stage of development.

The new BS 1192 is due to be released before the end of 2007. It offers a more comprehensive treatment of data classification, not just for CAD but for all construction industry data. For CAD users, it requires standard file/layer names based on Uniclass. It is anticipated that the AEC(UK) organisation will publish an "implementation" standard to make it easier to apply to CAD work.

Does that mean they have dropped CISfB from the standard in favour of Uniclass?
