AutoCAD on VMware

The subject says it all.

I'm going to post this here, as I'm not sure exactly where it should go. I'll head to other lists if I there is not
interest here.

I've been reading up on VMWare, a virtual Machine that runs on Linux, anyone tried running AutoCAD inside of this while
on Linux, I would be very interested in any experiences related to this.

i have tried it...you need a monster of a machine to pull it off (ram and
such) for anything other then a simple SMALL drawing...anything the least
bit complex you might as well reboot for.

When you say monster . . .

What did you try it on?

I'm mostly interested in remote admin and such with this type of installation.

We're a Civil Shop, which can go either very light wieght Drawings, 1 or two meg's vs many megs for the mapping/GIS aspects.

Thanks

bobb

well you will need enough ram to run both o/s's at one time and THEN enough
to handle autocad. its ok to play aournd with...but is no good when you have
to do REAL drawings.
