AutoCAD Language Pack - is it necessary to install?

I'm testing a network deployment package for AutoCAD 2011 and noticed the Language Pack installation takes 15 minutes.  I thought I'd requested I/T to omit it)  Is it really necessary to install the Language Pack and does the deployment creation wizard allow you to omit it?

I would say no.  I see the nag messages on drawings here and there, that I need some language pack, but it never seems to matter if you install them.  If you know you are dealing with, say, chinese characters, do install it.  We just do English though.

Thanks.  That's what I thought would be the case.

I haven't checked this with 2011, but in 2008 it was necessary to install the language pack for the dictionary to function.

I revisited the installation and it does appear that there's no opt-out of this.  That one part of the installation took an entire 15 minutes of what's nearly a 45 minute install process.  If it's gotta be in there, there's no way around it.
