AutoCAD 2009?

Anyone know when Autodesk is going to come out with AutoCAD 2009 and AutoCAD Architecture 2009?

I think Wanderer posted a script last week that helps rebuild
it to what you might actually want to see when needed, but it's not perfect
either - not to mention that it should not have been an issue with any new
release.

You mean the alien self replicating scale list? Don'tcha just love that one?

I agree and hope they do (but doubt it). I'd rather not upgrade everyone
just to fix the image problem or the alien scale list problem, neither of
which were problems in 06.

so does this mean that the tool bar error will never be fixed in '08

I'd say autodesk need to just realease a major sp for autocad 08 instead of
2009. Message was edited by: Discussion Admin

A little off topic, but I think you will love this.

My son is at the Air Force recruiters office waiting for the bus to take him off to the processing center before going to basic training. We are sitting there when his recruiter makes a comment suggesting the he change his t-shirt before going on to San Antonio. She informed him he would become an immediate target.

The t-shirt had a picture of a donkey sideways. Written underneath the donkey "I'M A SMART ONE".

He did get rid of the shirt prior to getting on the plane. Naturally, he found other ways to get the immediate attention of all of the "yellers". But that is a different story.

This yearly update is insane. I can't even get enough good quality contract labor to keep cost down. And hardly a contract person has a version of autocad older than 2005. Most are still on 2002. I've got one guy who is an excellent contract worker who has 2008.

Do other people have this issue? Or is everything in house for you guys? We've never had to let go of an employee because of a bad turn in the economy. We might have had to let go of almost all our contract workers in the past, but never an employee.

We have been a Gold beta site (testing since October) and were just released from our non-disclosure as of yesterday. I assumed that they (Autodesk) would be showing the previews on their website since they released everyone, but I guess not.

Since the blog traffic on this years release is pretty slow (hmmm I wonder why), I've posted a lot of screen shots & vid's of Raptor @ The Swamp: http://www.theswamp.org/index.php?topic=21356.msg258751#msg258751

I already have one question.

Screen Menu still there? This is the most underrated, underutilized part of autocad's software. It is the best thing since slice bread.....that of course, if you customize it to your company's standards. The standard screen menu is useless Michael

I agree. But I can't get anyone to use my screen menu customization. They
just don't want the screen menu. Dorks - all of them. Except ****ME*** ,
of course! (I've been listening to too much Rush Limbaugh).

I haven't got 09 installed here, but, I'm pretty sure I tried this first
thing when I started playing with this version, and it was still there.

I'll try to remember to check to be 100% when I'm on my other computer.

My Dad's friends from high school showed me some pics of him back in
'77... and a braid.
They took a series of photos as he had his hair braided and cut off
before he went into the Air Force.

Of course, he's been out for a few years now and hasn't cut his hair
since then.

Darned hippie. 😜
