Install of 2.18

Can anyone confirm what I am seeing?
When upgrading to 2.18 on Win2000 machines, I have to uninstall the previous
ProjectPoint and then install 2.18, but on NT4 machines I can just install
2.18. Anyone else have to do this??

When using PPoint2.exe, it will upgrade your ProjectPoint to build 18 if you
have anything older than build 18.

When visiting your site using the CAB file to install, the CAB file process
will upgrade you to build 18 if you have anything less than 17. We did this
to avoid forcing build 18 on those who already had 17.

There is no difference in PPoint2.exe or CAB file processing based on
operating system. Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, and XP all work the same in this
regard.

Steve;

I haven't taken the time to verify that. I have a mix of O.S. stations and
have only used the tried and true method of unistalling then reinstalling.

Tonight at 9 PM we will have a push of build 27 for English users and
build 29 for Japanese users. English users who want build 29 can obtain it
from a preview location.

ProjectPoint 2.2 (build 480.29), deployed April 22, 2002
Japanese users can download build 29 by uninstalling and revisiting
their sites.
Fixes: Japanese email messages with long subject lines displayed
garbled Kanji characters; Index and table of contents for the Japanese help
file was improperly formatted; Translation of "Add link" for the Japanese
ProjectPoint client was incorrect
For English users, a preview of build 29 is available as build 29
preview PPoint2.exe and is intended only for users who require fixes for:
ProjectPoint could not locate XREFs via UNC paths; ProjectPoint could
not locate XREFs via AutoCAD "Project Search Paths" that specified multiple
directories; Comments recorded as part of saving a markup were not always
added to discussion threads; Passwords could not start with a numeric
character; Deleting an extraneous email attachment lead to unexpected
ProjectPoint behavior

ProjectPoint 2.2 (build 480.27), deployed April 22, 2002
Fixes: Uploading a folder with subfolders containing files places
files in folder instead of subfolder; XREF upload was not properly handling
overlay XREF files

Scott;

Build 27 still will not upload attached xrefs with relative paths to their
proper sub-directories. Places them in target directory. Any idea when
that will be fixed?

This is the first I have heard of it. I will forward this to QA, so they can
verify. We have spent quite a bit of time between build 17 and our latest
build that we had originally scheduled for other work. We did this in the
interest of making ProjectPoint satisfactory for existing users. It may be a
while before we post another build. I will also alert Customer Care to this
issue as all bug requests start with them. Thanks for telling me. (I know my
answer is not great.)

Sadly QA reports that:

"Hmm, I setup a relative path structure and when I uploaded the parent I am
able to upload the xrefs into the subfolder structure that was setup on my
local drive. Just be sure that the "Preserve Folder Structure" option is
checked before uploading or everything will be dumped in the same target
folder."
So I guess I'll need more information if we are to reproduce the problem you
are seeing.

I take that back. We have subsequently reproduced the problem. No additional
information is necessary.
