Confused

I have been trying to digest all this info about the viewers, project point,
DWFs, etc. I thought I read somewhere that there would be a free DWG viewer
similar to VVE but that would read the new '04 format. We are looking into
getting a Buzzsaw subscription and one of the selling points to upper
management was that we could give a lot of non-acad types the ability to
view drawings. So if I understand it correctly if I want non-acad people to
view our stuff I have to give them express viewer and save those files I
want them to see as DWFs, or I have to buy VV3 and install it on their
computer so they can see the DWGs on Buzzsaw, or I can keep using VVE and
not upgrade to '04. I think if I tell management we will now have to buy
30-40 seats of VV3 they are going to a brick.

We understand there may be some confusion as we release new software and and
viewer. Below is a statement made by Joan Allen Buzzsaw Product Marketing
Manager about the subject. This was pulled directly from the "whats the
buzz" thread on the newsgroup.

In order to view DWF 6, you will need AEV (Autodesk Express Viewer) or Volo
View 3. In order to mark up a DWF 6 (and 2004 DWG's), you will need Volo
View 3, which was just released. If you are a paying Buzzsaw customer, you
will have access, in just a few weeks, to "Powered by Volo View" (a special
version of Volo View 3 that has view and markup capabilities for all of the
latest formats). "Powered by Volo View" does not have measure and plot
capabilities; you will have to order the full version of Volo View 3 in
order to get that extra functionality.

Hope this information helps.

Greg,
Thanks for checking with us. Per my earlier post, if you buy a Buzzsaw subscription, you will not have to pay extra for DWG view and markup for any of the members of your Buzzsaw site. We will provide, with your subscription, a special version of Volo View 3 called "Powered by Volo View."
If you have any other questions, please let us know.
Best Regards,
Joan Allen, P.E.
