FAQ for Rebranding of A360 Team to BIM 360 Team and Fusion Team

  1. Overview
  2. Pricing
  3. Migration Plan

OVERVIEW

What are BIM 360 Team and Fusion Team?

  • BIM 360 Team is a cloud-based solution for AEC design teams who need project collaboration tools and better interaction with stakeholders.
  • Fusion Team is a cloud-based solution for product design and manufacturing teams who need project collaboration tools and better interaction with their customers and supply chain.
  • These two new offerings are an evolution of A360 Team, split into two industry-specific products. The new products will have the same functionality of A360 Team at time of launch, with some added benefits such as increased storage limits per user (increased to 500 GB per user) and additional user access controls.

Why are we making this change?

  • In order to simplify and consolidate our cloud offerings within the AEC and MFG markets, we are rebranding A360 Team to become BIM 360 Team (for our architecture and engineering customers) and Fusion Team (for our product design and manufacturing customers).

Will these products have industry-specific functionality in future?

  • At first, the only change will be to the look and feel, but over time this change will allow us to tailor the products to the needs of your specific industry. It will also allow us to better connect A360 Team with the rest of Autodesk’s industry cloud products (for AEC and Product Design), so that you can have access to key files and information from any product, in any phase of your project. Therefore, industry-specific feature requests and feedback are welcome.

PRICING

When will BIM 360 Team and Fusion Team be available to buy?

  • Starting August 11th

What is the price point of BIM 360 Team and Fusion Team?

  • The price for the new products will be exactly the same as for the A360 Team product.

What term lengths will BIM 360 Team and Fusion Team be available with?

  • Same as A360 team: monthly, annual, 2-year, 3-year.

MIGRATION PLAN

What happens to current A360 Team subscriptions?

  • Current A360 Team customers will be able to continue to use their product with no service disruption as we finalize a migration plan. The plan is to migrate current A360 Team subscribers to one of the two new products of their choice. The timeline is being finalized and we will communicate details as soon as they are available.

What will the experience be for Collaboration for Revit subscribers who use A360 Team to manage their hub?

  • Collaboration for Revit users will be able to continue to use their A360 Team entitlement and service will not be affected. A360 Team entitlements from Collaboration for Revit subscriptions will be migrated to BIM 360 Team as per the migration plan above.

What is happening to A360 Drive? Will customers on maintenance plans still have an entitlement to A360 Drive?

  • This change does not impact A360 Drive.

What is happening to the free tier of A360?

  • This change does not impact the free tier of A360.

This is a good move in general even with the difficulty of having to mentally process yet another brand change.  Lets hope the brand aspect begins to settle down a bit, because all these distinct branded cloud products really create a lot of confusion.   My hope would be for the AEC side to see the emergence of a singular cloud experience that is perhaps extensible with specialty modules, some of which may be geared towards designers and others which may be geared towards constructors.  If Glue, Field etc can be rolled in that would be ideal.  Then hopefuly we can look forward to the consolidation of Revit addins required to interact with the cloud platforms.

Looking forward to seeing where this goes.
