Daily Update Module Additions

Looks like today the "Daily Update" Module went live today, and I am curious why it was released so soon without some key functionality such as:

• The ability to complete on the iPad? Let us fill in the information where the work is taking place?
• Enabling multiple parties on the construction team the ability to edit the report
• Give subs the ability to fill out their own and send it to the GC
• Giving us custom things we can add to the report similar to all the other modules such as issues or checklists
• Allow you to link in pictures from your photo library into the report
• Allow you to add documents into the report from your documents library

These seem like things that should have been included before it was released?

Great module in theroy and I hope it will get developed more, but not much we can do with it when its best feature is the ability to pull weather information in from a website.

I agree. Here is what I submitted as well that needs to be added.

- Run reports for Daily Updates. Currently can only print out your own daily update for a single day. Need reports that group all users' Daily Reports for a selected time period.

- See other users Daily Updates. Maybe set permissions on who can see other Daily Updates, but the administrators and Senior Superintendents need to see all other Daily Updates.

- Update iOS app with the Daily Updates feature. Most of our superintendents use the app over the web version.

- Ability to customize Daily Updates. We like to include specific line items for safety incidents and delays so it is easy to see those items.

- Ability to search Daily Updates for keywords.

For "sub sign-in" purposes, it would be nice for the Subcontractors/Inspectors to be able to "sign-in" on the SAME daily with their manpower and working hours.

The ability to do a Daily Survey would be nice as well.  This will be a great add once it's part of the iPad.  There is a similar tool already out there called Raken.  The report is nice because it's customized to have your company logo on the header.  Needs Work but headed in the right direction.

Completely agree with original and some of the other posts. Very excited about this feature, but a bit premature to launch this module without a mobile component.  

Perspective 1: Imagine working on a remote project when the job trailer is miles away and you have no data connection in the field.  The ipad with offline workflows are great... (wind/solar/civil projects). 

Perspective 2: If our foreman and superintendants have to leave the place of work to enter the daily report, then it is just double entry = WASTE.  A Daily Report Module on the web interface has almost ZERO value from a data entry standpoint!    

Daily Updates must be driven from the mobile device = ipad or iphone for that matter.

Perspective 3:  As a company admin... We have over 900 internal team members using this solution. We've recieved over 30 emails from our team members asking where is the ipad version.  There are over 50 unique posts to our internal chatter forum on "why can't I get the daily updates ipad version to work"...   It is unfortunate to respond saying it doesn't exists and to get a 2nd response saying "This sucks". 

This is frustrating!  Don't tease us!

I like the above ideas and comments.

At the minimum users with the Contractor role should be able to view/print any or all Daily Updates.

Thank you for posting your comments and they all are excellent ideas which many will be incorporated into future releases of Field.  One of the biggest items on this list is the abilty to enter Daily Updates on a mobile device.  We are getting very close to releasing the Daily Updates feature on the Field mobile app.

The other items mentioned are also being considered and some are even in development. So please keep watch as we make more refinements and additions to this feature.

In BIM360 Field we would appreciate if some more options can be provided to the user in the Daily Updates section.

1) The pictures that we attach. We would like to add comments to each picture separately. So when the report is generated; there is a description under each one.

2) Allow the user to set a size on the picture. The pictures on the report are too small. I would like to see only 2-4 pictures on a page. This all depends on the user, the project and different parties this report is being distributed to.
