Task and or Checklist barcoding

Can someone please link the barcode functions to Task and Checklist modules.  We use Tasks for building inspections, if they were linked then the barcodes i've printed and put on every doorframe would raise all completed inspections to date and reveal any missing ones at a glance.  This would be a very well received upgrade.

Thanks

Hello,

At this time it's not possible to directly link barcodes to the Tasks or the Checklists. However, you can via equipment (if being used) by attaching the Task or the Checklist to a piece of equipment and link the barcode to that particular piece of equipment.

You can create equipment records and assign barcode to the record and create an issue from the equipment record by doing following:

Adding Issues to Equipment records

In BIM 360 Field Web, users are able to create Issues associated with a piece of Equipment. Creating issues within an Equipment record can be useful in tracking progress and reporting on your Equipment.

Follow the steps below to attach an Issue:

  1. Click on the Home icon located on the top left corner of BIM 360 Field Web.
  2. Click on the Equipment button on the left.
  3. Select the Equipment and click the Edit button.
  4. Click the Issues tab.
  5. Click on the +Issue button.
  6. Fill out the details of the Issue accordingly and click on the Save button.

When you create issues from the equipment records and locate equipment record using barcode you will be able to see issues, checklist, tasks and any attachment associated with that record.

Thanks,

Chirag Modi
