linking checklist to location

How are you able to link a checklist to a location? Similar to the way that you link a checklist to a barcode? Is it neccessary to make a barcode for the location first?

Hello Shams,

Checklist templates can be configured within BIM 360 Field for specific evaluations in the categories of QA/QC, Safety, and Commissioning. Once a checklist template has been setup, it can be filled-out many times in different locations (see attach), by different users. You can get step-by-step instruction on how to “Create checklist templates manually within project setup” from our support page.

You can’t link Checklist to a barcode. You can create equipment records and assign barcode to the record and create Checklist from the equipment record by doing following:

Attaching Checklist Templates to Equipment:

A Project Admin can associate checklist templates with equipment records within the Equipment area of a project. This will allow them to control the checklist options available for each piece of equipment. The Project Admin can choose to associate different checklist templates to each piece of equipment individually or they can associate checklist templates in bulk.

Below are the steps to attach the checklist templates to equipment.

  1. From the project home page, click the Equipment button on the left-side of the screen.
  2. Select one or more equipment records, by checking the check box next to equipment record name within the equipment grid.
  3. Click the More Actions drop-down list that appears over the equipment grid and choose the Link Checklist button.
  4. The Link Checklist window will open with the list of checklist templates.
  5. Select the checklist templates to be attached and click the button Save + Close listed on the top right. This will attach the checklist templates to all the pieces of Equipment you have selected.

I would suggest that you assign barcode to a location first before attaching to a Checklist.

Please, let me know if this helps.

Best Regards,
