I am attemting to use BIM 360 in a manner that an "Owner" or client can log in and create ONLY certain issues that have a designated "type." Once the "company" was entered, that company would receive the new issue to address. The "company" cannot close but can updtae status. That status update needs to be seen by multiple contacts.
How can I set this up? Is there a user setting that can restrict full access to BIM 360 for all issues and limit them to just certain issues if the "type" is designated properly? And can they then only receive updates for items that are of that same "type" if new info or comments are added?
Hello,
If you were you assign users to the "Subcontractor" role and assign a company then any Issues created and assigned to their company, they will receive the notifications. The users will then be able to view only those Issues asisgned to their company and change the status to "Work Completed". The Issue would then show up for the author/ all Contractors as "Open". They can then either close it or make it Open again which would put it back in the Subcontractor view. The subcontractor role cannot close any Issues or create any new ones.
Another option would be add the users to the "Owner" role and assign the company. Then under the Issues you would need to create a filter only viewable for the Owners role and restrict the company so they can only view those Issues. But, with this role they will be able to close the Issues as well as create new ones.
Please see the links below on how to setup the users for the roles as well as filters.
Restricting users to only see Issues assigned to their company.
Thanks
